have read: they're not your friends

xmas gift ni yvette this book. tungkol sa isang artista wannabe. whoaaaaa. story ito ng girl na gustong maging in sa hollywood kaya lahat ginagawa. nagwriter siya sa isang magazine at in fairness, amgaling talaga siya mag dig ng chismis kasi pwede siyang makapasok sa world ng artistas. no. 1, mukha syang artista, at cool siya ng girl. ito yung nagiging friend ng mga artista. wahahhah. and then theres this guy, another writer na super walang talent pero sikat sa magazine kasi apparently nakakkakuha siya ng scoop, eh imbento lang naman lahat. ang isyu niya, idedeny ba naman ni brad pitt na magaling siyang daddy na pinagluto nya n pancakes ang mga anak niya? whoaaa. imbento talgaa lahat ng stories niya. lahat masasaya at in praise of the artista para hindi ideny. hahhahha. and then theres another writer, a really old one na napaglipasan na ng panahon. wala na siyang makuhang stories kasi outdated na ang chismis getting skills niya. hes a sad character here. i think this book is not the ordinary chick lit. parang the author wants to squeeze in some philo insights ganun.

have read: fireman's fair

maganda ang book na ito. a story of a lawyer who decided he doesnt want to be a lawyer na after the biggest storm he experienced in his life.and then he met a girl named billie and that changed everything. aside from that, story din ito ng eternal love nila ni louise, his perennial best friend whos the wife of his boss. saka ito yung the author shows the scene. like, my god, how can i not gush in this scene habang nagfifishing sina louise at rob: parang louise just said while still holding to the rod, i love you. and the rob, trying not to miss a beat said, "of course you love me. we have loved each other forever. we will love each other forever. its eternal love we share. unending. forever." and then they looked at each other and smiled. the moment has passed again. whoaaaa. ang galing. sana ako na ang lang nagsulat nito. whoaaa.

must read:zorba the greek

ang tagal ko na tong binabasa my god. kalevel na to ng war and peace. everytime i have to read from the beginning kasi limot ko na.

have read: when character was king

magaling ang author. literary magsulat. poetic. poignant magsulat. grabe, the emotions, its as if you can feel them from the words. kaya ayan tuloy, peggy noonan is one of my favorite authors na. speechwriter siya ni reagan and bush. no wonder reagan was the great communicator. eh kung si ms noonan ba naman ang speechwriter mo. anyway, this is about regans life, as told by ms. noonan. you'll learn a lot of stuff dito about his realtionship with his kids, with his mommy "nancy", with his parents. even the history of his politics, nandito rin.because of how beautiful he writes, dapat basahin to. yung mere description will not give justice to ms. noonan's writing.

have read: pride and prejudice

winner opening line ito. no literary nut does not know "it is a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of a good fortune is in want of a wife". oh di ba? plus, i mean with the countless movies ba naman on our dear lizzie and the lovely mr darcy, sino ba naman ang hindi magbabasa nito. romatic comedy ito kumbaga sa movie, kaya lang in book form saka siyempre austen kaya kakaiba ang words. parang mga tipong melancholy air swept the room, ganun. weh. pero i think nandun nga ang charm nito. saka hello, how can you not fall in love with the fesity ms. bennet? even their mom, kahit medyo weirdo weirdo at preoocupied sa paghahanap ng asawa ng anak niya e medyo funny at winner character din. and the dad of course. i love lizzie's dad. super. i think i love him more than i love the man of the book, mr. darcy. pero siyempre si mr. darcy is like all the way up there pa rin. i mean how can you not love someone like him? kagalang galang at higit sa lahat, mahal niya si lizzie! wahhhh. i love the proposal. my god.

have read: made in japan

ok ang book na ito. except the last part, parang it was about japanese trading effect na, and the economic policies so parang nabore ako. but his life was really something. i suddenly remember what they say about biographies. you read them because they answer the question, "whats he like?". and the sony guy was really something. ang dami kong natuto sa kanya, and how sipag he was, but the one thing na naalala ko sa lahat ng sinabi niya, its that there are two types of education daw, sabi ng daddy niya. education you cannot buy and that is education you get from school, and that is something na ipapaubaya mo na lang talaga sa kasipagan ng anak mo, and education you can buy, which is travel. omg. ang galing. forever ko na tong maiisip. and will tell my future kids as well.

have read: jane eyre

READER, I MARRIED HIM. whoaaa. what a line. this is what i remember the most from this book. pero anyway, itong si jane eyre, medyo kakaibang heroine. no. 1, hindi siya kagandahan. like plain-faced. at may scene dito na parang inaapi-api siya ng mga tao nung nasa bahay na siya ni rochester. basta. saka api siya. like api ng tita niya, api sa school, actually, mali. lahat pala sila api sa school. saan ka pa. may typhus epidemic. wahahah. anyway, maganda din ang apg meet nila dito ni Mr. Rochester. straight from my fantastic stories. and he actually calles her a witch! whahaaha. pang fantastic stories ko talaga ito e. but anyway, medyo dark this novel. kasi may madwoman, tas jane and mr. rochester cannot marry because of the first wife, tas nabulag towards the end si mr. rochester. pero fantastic stories din, kasi si jane pala has money kaya lang winitheld ang info sa kanya ng kanyang evil tita; basta mga ganung isyu. im sure may mga morality morality issues dito and maybe religion also kasi dun sa character ni helen. pero well, this isnt a book review. i can actually not discuss that. yipee.

have read: gone with the wind

siyempre, walang makakatalo kay scarlett. siya ang dahilan kung bakit places to go before i die ko ang atlanta. whoaaaa. southern belle. southern belle. binasa ko to mga 10 years ago habang mayroon akong 5 hour break everyday bago ang english class ko. at sobra akong nagandahan, hanggang ngayon, may mga nararemember pa rin ako na scenes in my mind. like the "i will never be hungry again!"scene. saka ang mga paghohonami ni scarlett sa all time love niya na si ashley. haha. at ang pagkakahuli sa kanya ni rhett sa likod ng sofa. grabe. ang ganda talaga nun. saka yung dineliver ni scarlett ang baby ni melanie. whoaa. wala pa ring attalo kay scarlett. the sheer strength of character of this girl. saka yung everything she will do talaga to save Tara, and the fact that shes good in what she does. ang gaga, naging businesswoman pa. at siyempre, wala pa ring tatalo kay rhett. like, omg, i super love this guy. bootlegger and all. saka hello, binigyan niya si scarlett ng carriage in the middle of a war. protective. protective. saka well, wala, he loves scarlett e. and hes a very good dad to bonnie. nalungkot lang ako umayaw na siya towards the end. napuno na. hahaha.

have read: personal history

powerful woman. this katharine graham. ang galing. she headed washington post during that whole watergate thing. and she headed that kasi namatay yung husband niya. suicide. waah. can you imagine. tas wala ang galing niya. maganda ang book kasi powerful ang mga chismis. like alta sociedad. tas medyo honest si katharine about the affair ng husband niya. grabe. ang galing. pati yun sinulat niya. and well, hindi ko makalimutan na yung husband niya was stattioned in the philippines for two years during the war. ang saya. naisip ko, grabe, kung may nakakakilala lang sa kanya thats time. tas, well, yung sinabi niya that the clintons were not her generation. ganun. saka how ehe triumphed sa post kahit na super male dominated world. very inspiring ito. i wanna be her. i wanna be her.

have read: seabiscuit

this is a story of the most popular personality in 1938 which turns out to be a horse. haha. but anyway, this is a very good book, engrossing. it transports you to the era of the 1930s and the world of jockeys, and really rich men who own horses and horses and horses. maganda yung pagsulat about the personalities whose lives were entangled because of seabiscuit. the owner and the jockey and the doctor. nalungkot lang ako for the jockey kasi wala he died poor eh parang sobra rin naman siyang nagwork hard. plus maybe the fact that he lived too long din unlike the others na nagkaroon pa ngmonument and all. when i read this, feeling ko parang black beauty ang story, but no. its really about the people and the politics and all the other things din, aside from seabiscuit. well, eh kasi naman novel ang black beauty. but anyway, dito, parang larger than life si seabiscuit, which he probably was. so magaling ang author. naachieve niya yun. may line ako na namermorize dito, feeling ko magagmit sa pleading. parang, its too petty to be bothered by, but its to vicious to be overlooked.

have read: like water for chocolate

ito ay isa na namang magic realism novel. as usual weirdo. weirdo. the first thing that comes to my mind is in the end, yung quilt na ginagawa ni tita, inenvelop niya sa ranch na nasunog because she ahd sex with pedro na love of her life. at bakit nasunog, kasi sa sobrang intense ng emotions nila, naglight yung ga matchsticks at nasunog si tita. whoaaaa. anyway, ito ay istorya na naman ng sawing pag-ibig. like tita is soo in love with pedro, but mama elena, the monster mom in this story, ayaw payagan ang love story nila kasi tita is not supposed to marry dahil youngest kid. sino daw ang mag-aalaga sa kanya. wow. so anyway, thats the story, yun kanilang mga unanswered passions and longing and the tragic love. hay naku. pero dahil magic realism ito, winner na naman ang mga pangyayari. like may sister na dahil sa niluto ni tita, went all over the ranch naked and eloped with this guy. and then nung niluto ni tita yung cake nina rosaura, buong town nagkasakit at umiyak ng sobra sobra dahil nasama sa cake ang lahat ng pain ni tita. yun at kung ano-ano pa.

have read: one hundred years of solitude

ang natatandaan ko dito ay si remedios the beauty. how can i forget her, eh she ascended into heaven while doing the laundry. as in pag sinabi this book, i usually equate it kay remedios the beauty. ultimate magic realism ito. like may girl na kumakain ng lupa, tas merong kinakain ng langgam tas merong scroll na andun ang story ng isang pamilya at ng macondo for one hundred years, tapos pinapanganak ng bukas ang mata kasi he wept sa womb ng mom niya, tas yung girl na may dalang bones ng parents niya, tas yung sako lang ang damit, may mga gypsys, invisible doctors, mga pamngkin who end up loving the aunts who raised them. whoaaaaa.grabe. ang daming issues. pero pag hindi mo nga naiintindihan ang magical realism, basahin mo to and the sun will surely shine on you.

have read: bergdorf blondes

normal chick lit na naman to. the girl ends up with the friend na matagal nang may crush sa kanya, at laging nagsasave sa kanya sa mga ladies in distressed moments niya. whoaaa. except gusto ko to kasi si charlie ay isang earl, and he lives in a castle! haha. at dati pa ay may isyu na ang mommy ng bida na girl na si little earl ang dapat maging partner niya. and it so came true. kaya fairy tale ito. wahahhaha. even the ultimate julie bergdorf, maganda din ang love story, she fell in love with this steel magnate na professor. wow. fairy tale again. sikat this book because i think this along with devil wears prada started the trend na high fashion, so up there world na interlinked with the story. and it doesnt disappoint kasi may mga info talaga on what they do, where they hang out, who does their hair, mga ganun. pang mga "people in the pavement" talaga ang novels na ito.. ang isyu ko pa pala with this movie, the maid was filipina. ok lang naman yun sa kin, except well, parang she was portrayed as hindi magaling magenglish. i dont think so. i think hindi kaya. we speak better english than you do kaya, parang yun ang naiisip ko.

have read: the devil wears prada

ito lang ang alam ko na mas maganda ang movie kesa sa book. si miranda is definitely better as portrayed by meryl streep. kasi sa book, siya ay isang screaming hyena. my god. as in aaan-dre-ah ang drama all the time. basta i saw her as maingay na eccentric na hindi mo mawari. pero siyempre, si meryl streep has other things on her mind. at mas maganda ang image niya of miranda. poweful na iritable. "dont bore me with your questions". how divalike can you be? anyway, ang isyu ko dito sa book, bakit naman hindi pa tiniis ni andrea ang one month? kasi parang one month na ang tas tapos na siya ng one year kay miranda. eh di ba ang story is one year with miranda opens doors for you. so when i was reading this, ang isyu ko, bakit naman, nakatiis na rin siya eh hindi pa niya nilubos lubos. bukod pa dun, ang natatandaan ko dito ay ang ending. sa book, binenta niya lahat ng signature clothes niya at kung ano ano pa na nakulimbat niya sa runway. so ang total nun ay something like $32K. as in ang line na na natandaan ko ay "im a rich woman now". tas yung end, parang nakita niya yung kapalit niya na super stressed. wala silang closure ni miranda. unlike in the movie.

have read: six reasons to stay a virgin

ito ang chick lit na gusto ko. (thank you yvette! gift niya to sa akin before look chaw took the bar!) even if the girl ends up with her friend, Sam, super ok sa akin. kasi parang Sam naman talaga is the best guy for the girl. saka ang ganda ng characterization kay Sam. parang the guy who says, sige, bahala ka lang jan, do your thing my dear, and i will just be here, waiting until you realize its been us all along. whoaaaah. ang sweet talaga. i love Sam Finch! and the girl, whose name escapes me now, is very cool din. except hindi masyadong ambitious. biglang nagresign sa trabaho niya, which looks good on paper. haha. saka forever quirky din at laging palpak. buti na lang si sam is always there to save the day. and she has the best friends ever. they all wanna help her get over her secret fears and all. kasi ang tanda na niya, NBSB pa rin. haha.

have read: star craving mad

this was my weekend read. at vintage chick lit siya. as in vintage with a capital V! like the girl ends up with the friend na hindi niya pinapansin pero matagal ng may crush sa kanya. my god! akala ko pa naman fairy tale story ko to. as in the teacher ends up with the hollywood king. oh well. masyado yata akong nagexpect sa kakayahan ng author. kasi may mga instances na akala ko foreshadowing ganun, tas habang binabasa ko pa nga, naisip ko, hindi masyadong malinis tong author na magforeshadow kaya lang, hindi pala yun talaga foreshadowing at all. haha. medyo may promise ang novel na ito sa simula kaya lang parang major let down talaga ang bandang huli. hindi naman abrupt pero parang so-so. kung movie to, im sure hindi ito favorite ng mga critics. as in, B movie ganun. although in fairness, maganda ang epilogue. favorite page ko yun. but all the others, humdrum. even the characterization, hindi rin maganda. i think pwedeng mas maganda ang characterization ni michelle or even james or rachel. hay naku. this book disappointed me. saka may isyu ako sa chick lit, bakit hindi siya fairy tale like? why does the girl always have to end up with the friend?

have read: florence of arabia

binasa ko ito dahil maganda ang thank you for smoking na movie ni buckley. i figured kung maganda ang book na iyon, malamang magaling ang author. (bukod pa sa P5 lang ang bili ko rito sa book na to sa booksale.) so sige, lets go ako with this book one weekend. very entertaining. parang pang movie din ito. sino kaya ang magiging florence. anyway, this started with a princess from the middle east na nabangga ang sasakyan sa malapit sa pentagon aor whereabouts dahil tatakas siya sa asawa niyang prince. eh nabangga nga so huli. Oh no, nalaman ng prince. so ang ginawa niya, tumawag siya kay florence na nagtatrabaho sa state department na isang agent na magaling mag-arab kasi tumira siya dun for a time dahil sa naging husband niya na powerful. pero simula pa lang yun. habang binabasa mo to, aba, iba na ang istorya. bigla na lang may mission na sila to save the women of arabia. bale nagtayo siya ng parang pan-arabian lifestyle channel. tas tinuturo nila how bad yung pagtreat sa arab women hanggang biglang mayhem na and all sa buong middle east. so ganun. parang action packed di to e. si nick naylor is still there, doing pr stuff pero si nick, hindi personal. he knows when to quit. unlike our dear florence. although well, she survived naman and found out quite an interesting thing in the end din. pero feeling ko, masyadong personal tong si florence, which shouldnt be the case. action packed to and even the words he uses, parang punong puno yung page. pero maganda to. maybe angelina can be florence.

have read: the prize winner of defiance ohio

favorite character of all time ko si evelyn ryan because of this book. parang my god, i super wanna be like this girl. well of optimism and persistence and cheerfulness amidst the pressures of having ten kids and an alcoholic husband. matalino sobra si evelyn, she always wins the contests na sinasalihan niya lagi, usually mga rhymes and all. ang galing. naiinggit ako. hahah. at saka pag binasa mo to, mattransport ka sa 50s na yung mga mommy nagluluto and cleans the house and all the other stuff. and they wore dresses. my god. and the place where she lived. grabe. nostalgia ito. at southern feel my god. at hindi ko alam pero siguro dahil sa ang nagsulat ay si terry na anak niya, parang ang sweet ng pagkasulat, alam mo yun. heartfelt . involved. alam niya the happiness felt pag nananalo ang mommy niya sa contest, yung fear pag yung dad niya medyo needs to be in the kitchen. ganun. this is one fun read. very entertaining.

have read: front row at the white house

kilala ko si helen thomas from marlin fitzwater's book call the briefing. friends yata sila. bukod sa nasa backcover ang picture ni helen thomas prying on the windows of fitzwater, marami rin siyang mention sa book. basta si helen thomas is known as the grand dame of white house reporters. eh san ka ba naman nakakita, nandun na siya panahon pa lang ni jackie o all the way to dubya. o di ba? thts like 50 years ganun? pero maganda ang story nitong si helen kasi immigrant yung parents niya, i think lebanese sila. and yun dad niya was really masipag and believed in education, she went to college and worked nung hindi pa fashionable ang magwork ang mga babae. maganda din ang love story nila ng husband niyang si doug. kasi magkasama sila sa work for the longest time until si doug got divorced and then basta four years na siyang divorced, when they found themselves falling in love ganun. tas different personalities kasi si doug was this tahimik guy and of course si helen is like ggrrrr, always prowling on presidents. so yun. andami ding chismis dito. my god. eh fifty years ba naman sa white house e. so yun, this makes an interesting read especially on mga presidents, first ladies ganun.

have read: paula

maganda ang style ng book na ito. i dont think makakalimutan ko ang first line. parang, "paula, im writing you this story so that when you wake up, you will not be lost". oh di ba. dito ko kaya nakuha ang idea ng dear buddha books ko. except wala pa rin akong dear buddha books hanggang ngayon. hahaha. its all floating in the air pa. anyway, parang naging autobiography ni allende ang book na to. kasi si paula is her daughter who lives in spain. and then paula got sick tas she fell into a coma. so si isabel travelled all the way to madrid from california to be with paula. so yun, sa book, kwinekwento niya yung life niya, chilean life, tas when she went na sa states, yung dad niya and all. tas maraming insights on grief and dying and love. nakakalungkot nga when you read kasi medyo parang very honest si isabel sa feelings niya, parang you can feel a mother's yearning.

have read: a day late and a dollar short

hindi ko alam kung dahil sa limited worldview ko kaya nagandahan ako dito. kasi ang galing, iba iba ang voice sa story, at first time lang ako nakabasa ng ganito. this is a story of a mommy and her children: isang mayamang chef na may matalinong anak at single parent, isang masungit at maraming angst na post office manager na may mga anak na medyo bobo ng konti sa school pero may mabait na husband, isang guy na loser like uber loser na may isang anak pero wala sa kanya ang custody dahil loser nga siya, at isang girl na may anak na minomolest ng partner niya matanda na na guy. nagandahan ako kasi yung story per chapter, iba iba ang nagsasalita like sa chapter 1 yung mom tas events will happen ganun, tas sa next chapter, yung chef naman ang magsasalita tas pwedeng same events din pero perspective niya, alam mo yun. first time kong makabasa ng ganito kaya nagandahan ako sobra. tas nakakaiyak din towards the end. at hindi ito yung tears in my eyes nakakakiyak, ito yung oh my god, im sobbing my head off iyak kasi ibang klase talaga.

have read: all too human

ito ang una kong all too human na nabasa. at siyempre, winner ito for me.super biased ako sa lahat ng jackie kennedy books. like my personal hero itong si jackie o. hahaha. well, totoo nga naman na love story nila ang kwinento dito, i remember, the story from the simula up to that tragic day in dallas. at sabi sa book, super nagmamahalan na talaga sila nung panahon na yun, as in union of their hearts and their feelings na kaya the grief of jackie, genuine yun sobra. two things stand out sa emory ko when i think of this book, that line na " what the french call demi- virge" and yung scene after the shooting while jfk was in the morgue. feeling ko movie. kasi naiwan daw si jackie with jfks body tas si jackie was just there crying and she held lang the hands of jfk and she kissed him daw and stuff like that. feeling ko nakakaiyak sobra. this i think is one the first jackie books i have read, at super nagandahan ako, i have to read the others. maganda ding magkwento kasi si klein. poignant. at dahil dito, i think my fantastic stories of becoming a first lady started.

have read:l'affaire

itong si diane, henry james wannabe. ang stories niya, puro americans in europe. haha. anyway, naiingit ako sa lead character dito kasi wala lang siyang magawa sa buhay niya. apparently, computer girl siya na nagbenta ng company niya worth milllions of millions of dollars kaya nagliliwaliw na lang siya sa alps. o di ba. another batugan lifestyle ito. haha. anyway, kung ano-ano na lang ang story dito, like may naaksidente sa alps na american na siyempre tinulungan niya yung naiwan na brother and the kid na super young. tas the american girl, may husband na british or french, i dont remember, na may publishing business na may kids na nag-iisip kung paano ang kayamanan nila kasi if its british law ganito, if its french law ganito. alam mo yun. tas yung bida na girl parang may person siya to introduce her sa parisian society tas it turned out may anak pala this girl sa publisher na namatay. whoaaaaa. what a convoluted storyline this has. and then ito pa, the partner of the bida na girl, the husband of the kid of the person na nagintroduce sa kanya sa parisian society . whoaaa. winner talaga to sa stories. although i guess, i have to say, since henry james wannabe nga si diane, clear siya magkwento. like kahit super convoluted ang storyline, matatandaan mo kasi chill lang ang storytelling technique niya. so all in all, ok na din.

have read: shopgirl

feeling ko ay sinulat ang book na ito para maging movie. actually telemovie. kasi parang feeling ko, kulang ng drama and ooomph para maging book. ewan ko ba. kasi parang "so yun na yung book?" ang bilis ko man nabasa to. like in one night yata. yung copy pa ng book na binasa ko, yung sa ate ni yvette sa pangmayaman niyang bahay sa singapore haha. super takot akong malukot baka magalit si suzette! haha. anyway, nabore ako sa book. whats sooo intersting about a girl sa gloves section ng isang department store. para tong yung mga movie na ah, ok, yun na yun tas favorite ng mga critics. hindi ko alam kung bakit. like i cannot understand. tas ang weird kasi nagkaaffair siya with the old guy na parang daddy-daughter na ang relationship nila in the end. weehhhh. ang weird. im sure may mga meaning meaning to, pero wala, its like totally lost on me. oh, well.

have read: le divorce

ito ay naging movie na. at kahit hindi ko pa napapanood ang movie, kilala ko ang mga artista so habang binabasa ko ang book, hindi ko maalis sa isip ko na si kate hudson yung california girl and si naomi watts ang stepsister niya. ok lang naman sa akin, pero gusto ko sana ako ang nag-iimagine ng itsura ng characters. yung book is ok kasi wala, its all paris, paris paris. although hindi naman ako enamored talaga sa paris haha. pero masaya din this book. super iba ang europeans sa americans. i guess, the author showed it well. saka natuwa ako sa painting na nasa story kasi ang painting ay st. ursula. like st. ursula of my binangonan rizal. ang saya. saka well, nagmamahalan ang family dito, however dysfunctional they sometimes are. like pumunta si kate hudson character (i forgot her name) sa paris to help roxette, the stepsister kasi pregnant and all. and the family of the husband, ok din, masaya with their sunday lunches. pero naiisip ko, tagalog movie din ito e. kasi ang daming nangyayari. like hahaha, saan ka pa, hostage taking sa disneyland. how filipino movie can you get? haha. tas like itong si roxette medyo suicidal, tas bakit maraming magnanakaw sa alta sociedad. ang daming substories. buti na lang may love story si kate hudon character with this kagalang galang guy in france. na nagbibigay ng hermes, san ka pa. this kate hudson character, batugan lifestyle to e. pero fun siya na character. parang masarap maging kaibigan.

must read: war and peace

have read: all too human

when i first saw this book, ang naisip ko agad, ano ba yan, same title ng jack and jackie love story na book. but what the heck. this is george my god. super crush ko. like, "omg-i-wanna-be- him-crush". imagine he was really young sa clinton campaign . 30 years old or thereabouts. and hes not bad looking at all. so young, and so powerful. as in inner circle.whoaaaaa. super naiinggit ako. hhhaha. anyway, the book is parang a political memoir e. what he was, what he did during the clinton campaign, and eventually as clinton adviser in the white house. favorite siya pero may mga nakakaaway din siya. haha. like for a time galit sa kanya si hillary kasi feeling nila leakage guy siya forever. saka i think also because hes young baka may mga bravado pa siyang nalalaman. hindi ko makalimutan yung sabi ni clinton sa kanya one time " i should not have brought people under 40 in this white house!" . haha. pero kahit na, i mean, favorite pa rin siya. at saka ang sipag niya na guy. he works forever like at 6 am hes in the office na and he leaves super gabi na. and hes super available even when on a sunday . thats how devoted he was. eh kasi nga siguro, young kid. all the time i was reading this, naiingit talaga ako sa kanya. hay naku. when will my time come?

have read: washington square

si henry james, hindi ko kilala until sa notting hill. kasi di ba sa movie, may line si anna na, "you think i should do henry james instead?" , and well, when she came back, it was a henry james movie she was making. tas this book, super tagal na sa bookshelf ko kasi kaya ko lang to binili i though some political book. wahahah. so one day na wala akong mabasa, pinagtiyagaan ko na lang. and whoa! was i in for a surprise. kaya pala sikat si henry james kasi magaling siyang magsulat. ito yung parang, wala, cool lang ako dito, kwinekwento ko lang what happens to catherine and her dad and her tita. as in third person kwento ito. parang wala akong pakialam pero ganito ang nangyayari at dahil magaling akong magkwento, parang chill and all, sige magbasa lang kayo jan. haha. parang detached na involved ang pagkwento niya. alam mo yun. super simple. pero yung characters kasi, parang malalim saka he makes it a point to explain why the dad is like that, why the kid is like that. pati yung character ng tita, parang matutuwa ka na maiinis ka na ewan. alam mo yun. yung story lang nito, parang weirdo for me kasi yung daddy, parang ano ba, give your daughter a chance naman. ang selfish kasi e. and then dun sa guy bida, diyos ko naman, walang kahihiyan at super batugan. alam mo yun, batugan with a capital B. walang kahihiyan. at si catherine naman, parang matalino na tanga din. kasi wala, hinayaan lang niya na ganun, hindi man lang nagmatapang ganun. in the end, wala, sinong malungkot. pero sabagay, kung yung batugan with a capital B nga lang din naman, baka better na nga what happened.

have read: the house of the seven sisters

unang una, ang author ay dutch. so parang natuwa ako kasi wow, different perspective. its not everyday na may mga dutch writers di ba. or, kung meron man, in my limited worldview, wala akong kilala. the only dutch i know is the brother in law of mylene. anyway, maganda ang book na ito. parang may mga gabriel garcia ang feel ko. magical realism. siguro dahil sa ending saka sa yaya nila. pero masaya ang stories, saka idol ko si martha kasi singlehandedly raised her sisters.san ka pa. until yumaman sila and all. saka progressive sila na sisters, kasi hindi lang sila napako sa bakery, naging parang supermarket na rin sila towards the end. gusto ko yung story sa lahat siguro nung girl who fell in love sa mechanic kasi medyo tombyish siya and all,and the guy loved her very much. masyado naman kasing tragic yung sa hunchback. haha. actually medyo inclined pala ako sa mayor story except hindi niya napaglaban the girl. as i think now, blessed din pala si martha dito kasi in the end di ba, she got married to this really rich guy who died at biglang yumaman siya. kung totoo itong book review, id start with saying, ito yung book na rich in texture. saka maganda yung pagkwento niya. at well, ala gabriel garcia na mas feminine, girlish writing.

have read: love me

kaya ko binili ang book dahil ss title. naisip ko kasi, kung may mga pick up lines, may mga pick up books, at well, meron pa bang tatalo sa "love me". haha. although kasi si garrison keillor to. may nabasa na rin akong book niya before. yung lake wobegon,1956 at well ang funny kasi nung novel na yun, so naisip ko maganda to. at well, when i read this, sumama ako sa journey ni mr. blue haha. ang funny nung mga letter senders niya. kaya lang yung iba hindi ko madecipher kung sino, except for the ones na obvious na si al gore at si george bush. haha. may mga lines to memorize din dito, pero ang natatandaan ko, " my queen" ang tawag siya sa wife niya, which i forgot the name. pero this book, true love din si mr. blue ng queen niya kasi hello, talagang hinayaan siya to live his own life sa new york, and have all his girls there, while the queen continued her simple life sa i forgot the name of the street. saka maganda rin ang nangyari sa buhay nung bida here ( my god, hindi ko maremember yun name niya, except he's mr. blue haha) kasi dahil sumikat ang makapangyarihan niya na novel about a family na kinidnap at sinave ng isang policeman ay nabigyan siya ng space sa new yorker. at super wala siyang ginagawa dun. wala. he just have an office saka kasama niya magflyfish ang editor. wahaha. at ang tagal nun ha. like 8 years siyang walang ginagawa kundi girls and booze and hotel living. haha. ang wird lang kasi ang daming subplot. yung new yorker daw is ran by the mafia or something. ewan ko ba. hindi ko yata masyadong favorite this book. too cluttered for my taste.

i like this book super. when i was reading this nga mga a month ago, binabagalan ko yung pagread kasi ayokong matapos agad. i just love celia henry. parang ang cool niya e. unfettered life guru. and my god, she owns the whole sophia beach practically. thank you to henry and the whole westervelt family fortune. haha. grabe. at saka ang daming lines dito to memorize, the hands down winner, "a bed and breakfast is like a hotel, only its a house." wahahha. so thats how you explain what a bed and breakfast is. haha. yung stories din, ang weird, like the kids changed their name on their own. from harmony to elizabeth kasi gusto niya queen siya or something. haha. at saka yung nagconcoct ng stories yung isang girl kasi ang saya ng life niya eh in order to live a significant life, feeling niya dapat maraming abuse na ginawa sa kanya as a kid. ang weird talaga. haha. parang when youre reading this, gusto kong matransport sa sophia beach at maglakad ng barefooted papunta sa henry's house. feeling ko ang ganda dun. like ang naiimagine ko ito yung mga free flowing gossamer curtains, na mahangin na white walls and all na lugar. heavenly. saka grabe itong si celia kasi favorite siya ng mga tao. like i still cannot believe si dorothy decided to stay in the island because of her. ang cool. super assortment of characters to. even the novelist, gusto ko makita. haha. ito yung book that really transports you to a magical place, alam mo yun. coz di ba they say that about books. when you read this, you'll understand what that saying means.

well, i know sobrang late ko na na ngayon ko lang nabasa this book. like 27 years old. whoaa. teenage angst. teenage angst. except hindi naman ako nagkateenage angst so hindi ako makakarelate dito siguro kung binasa ko before. haha. but well, as usual, ok naman siya. parang ang tapang lang ni H to do that stuff, i mean ran away and lived in a hotel for quite a time on his own. actually matapang and mayaman. saka, hes really smart, pero tamad din. san ka pa. i think naaffect siya sobra sa pagkamatay ni allie, saka naisip ko, kahit medyo phony yung feeling niya sa mga tao in his circle, mahal niya ang family niya. like, hes sorry for his mother kasi malalaman na nakickout na naman siya, and of course he loves his sister and his brother. saka, characters din yung mga nakikilala niya. i mean who can forget tha taxi driver na mainitin ang ulo? and the nuns, and the mommy sa train station. saka si maurice and the prostitute. grabe. im sure if this is like a true blue book review, marami akong maiisip na meaning nito. pero since hindi, ill just take them as they are. haha. ang tamad. pero ang weird kasi nagagandahan si H sa out of africa, eh nakakatamad basahin for me. but since he really liked it, and i mean, hes really good in composition, english and all that stuff, sige na nga, ill continue reading it. haha.

naiinggit ako sa classmate ko kasi may reading list siya na hindi book review. yup. i want that. feeling ko kasi pag book review dapat maayos. well, all my blogs naman hindi. pero basta. ill write, well ill try to write na nga the books that i read kasi ang dami na din nila, like sometimes two books in a week pa nga. grabe no. eh wala, i cannot sleep until i read, saka well except for honami and other telenovelas i like, id rather read a book than watch tv. so anyway, this book i read kasi parang i wanna understand what ces drilon went through. so i picked this up kahit mga ten years na tong book na to ni mylene (which was a bday gift from me, with autograph from rp ! hehe). eto na naman, hindi na naman ako nagkwekwento about the book. haha. ok. so i like this kasi nakwento naman ni gracia nang mahinusay ang pangayyari sa jungle. saka parang if you think of the experiences nila, my god, thank you god for the daily clothes and food that i have. ang galing kasi hindi nagkastockholm syndrome si gracia although may mababait nga naman na abu sayyaf din, sabi niya. saka the stories nung mga hostages, maganda din. each personality shines through. hindi ko talaga maget-over yung girl na may dalang suitcases sa bangka. haha. parang this is what really happened pala. kasi before you read them din naman sa papers di ba. at well, ang stupid nga ng AFP, naisip ko, pero well, kung siya nga, ok lang sa kanya, why will i wreck my brains? saka tama ang sabi ni gracia sa start, this is actually martin's book. makikita mo talaga how pure his heart is. sayang, hindi na ko magkakachance to see and meet this guy. sana si gracia one of these days.
